Thirty-Two.

Birthdays are sometimes like looking through an old photo album. The memories come flooding back and you're overwhelmed by spaces and faces you had tucked away. Memories of relationships that filled pages of different chapters in your own autobiography. I was overwhelmed by the outpouring of well wishes and love that came my way over the course of the last 24 hours as I rang in my 32nd birthday. Texts and phone calls from family and friends from all chapters of my life checking in and letting me know that they were thinking about me. It makes the world seem smaller as you take a moment to reflect on the web of connections and relationships that are woven into the fabric of our lives.

How did I celebrate the big THIRTY-TWO?
  • Dinner on my birthday eve with my parents at Atchafalaya on Louisiana. A restaurant I had been wanting to check out that did not disappoint. My Dad brought in a delicious bottle of red wine and the photo above features their AMAZING bread pudding. Who needs cake when you can have bread pudding??
  • Lunch with Molly and Daph in the 1834 Club
  • Carrot Cake and Cookie Monster ice cream with coworkers
  • A Rhodes Happy Hour at Cure
  • Dinner at Arana, the new Mexican restaurant on Magazine, with Katie and Daph
And I got some great gifts as well! A Dr. Bob frame from Daph, a Starbucks PRIDE t-shirt from my sister that I'm looking forward to wearing this weekend for Decadence, and money from my parents and grandparents that I'll put toward a new rain jacket and some nice sunglasses.

At a time in my life right now where I can feel that change is on the horizon and I'm searching to find out what that will mean and it what aspects of my life it will take shape, I am grateful for the love and support of so many and look forward to seeing what this next birth year will have in store. Onward and upward.

Cheers.
