My own prescription

I've done a little revising on the old adage, "an apple a day keeps the doctor away." To be frank, I don't even know if I ever bought into that saying. I enjoy an apple but don't know about eating one every single day...Then again, maybe if I did, I wouldn't be dealing with this nuisance of a cold that makes my mornings all the more unpleasant. I'm hoping it disappears quickly before I hit the slopes on Sunday.

Anyway, so my new take on the phrase is, "2 hours of studying per day keeps the COMPS anxiety away." I know, I know...not the best jingle and somewhat of a mouthful to say but it works for me. I departed Athens on Wednesday with a 1.5 inch thick black binder full of study guides. 58 sources. Roughly 100+ typed pages of single-spaced notes to mark up, dissect, and synthesize into one cohesive whole. If I carve two hours out of each day (excluding December 25) to open the binder and dig in, I figure I'll be in great shape by the first of the year to spend the final week leading up to my comprehensive exams on January 8 to write some sample questions and throw a number of study parties with my cohort mates. Hard to believe this exam will all be over in less than a month! Not to mention that 2010 (twenty-ten, which I enjoy saying so much more than two thousand nine) is right around the corner...

Off to Breckenridge, CO tomorrow with the fam and I left my laptop behind so this may be the last post from me until we return.

Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas!

Cheers.
