My new accessory...
I have a tendency to not always be a trendsetter but rather, to jump on the bandwagon late in the game. But hey, at least I don't miss the bandwagon altogether, right? I wouldn't say I got the itch to get some TOMS until the students started arriving in late August. And everywhere I looked, TOMS. They are more popular than rainbows, more popular than Sperry's (and that seems almost unspeakable) but the students here wear the heck of out them. And the more I saw students in them, the more I began to want some. They just looked so comfortable. And then it was like I had to have them. Had to.Since their arrival in the mail yesterday, I wear them every chance I get! I ordered the ash grey canvas ones (the basic) over getting a corduroy or plaid or other seasonal color/fabric. I wasn't sure I was ready for anything more than the basic. And I'm in love. Chances are I'll be sporting them in Memphis this weekend for homecoming (as long as they fit with the attire of course) and though winter is around the corner and they just won't do in the cold and ice, they'll be ready and waiting come spring! And since NOLA is never as cold during the holidays, I'm excited to sport them back home!
Now, you might be thinking, that if all the students wear them, maybe I'm too old for them? I wondered for a hot second. And then moved on. I spoke with an old college buddy who has a pair and loves his and another friend who really wants a pair too. So there we go. No more worries.
I have an amazing new pair of shoes and I donated a pair! It's the TOMS way of doing business. Don't think it could get any better!
Cheers.
