Weekend Recap

This past weekend was good for the soul. Real good. I've always been a guy who wanted to work to live rather than live to work and with these past few weeks, I'm really feeling like I'm doing the former. Yet, I'm also finding fulfillment with my job and enjoy spending the week in the office so all around, I consider it a win-win. But back to this weekend....

Friday night I went to Happy Hour at the Columns and dinner at Magazin with Alex, Caleb, Ed, and Daphne. It was great being with friends and kicking off the weekend surrounded by good people. I had never been to Magasin, a Vietnamese restaurant on Magazine Street, and though I enjoyed the food and it was cheap, I didn't fall in love with it. But still, always open to new places! Saturday turned out to be my favorite day of the weekend. Breakfast with Ed at Slim Goodies (another first for me), shopping and purchasing a dress for Red Dress Run in a couple weeks and a tuxedo for the upcoming YLC Gala, and a lazy afternoon before heading home for dinner to see Victoria.

Bonding. Daph took this gem!

Sunday, I watched a few episodes of Orange is the New Black, cleaned and did laundry, hit the grocery store, and ran 7 miles. Productive day! A visit to Creole Creamery Sunday night wrapped up an excellent weekend. A college buddy happened to be in town for a conference so he stayed with me and it was great to see him a bit too. I'm looking forward to a hopefully productive week and to my best friend visiting this upcoming weekend.

Cheers.
