When I moved into my new place back in April, one of the things I was simultaneously most looking forward to and dreading was furnishing the place. Having spent the previous 2.5 years living in a furnished residence hall, I looked forward to the day when I would be able to decorate my own space with my own tastes. Don't get me wrong! I wasn't complaining at not having to furnish my own living room, dining room, or spare bedroom BUT I just didn't care for the furniture I had. It wasn't me. When I purchased my dining room table and chairs off Craigslist several months back, I did so knowing it had potential and eager to make it better fit the space. The country/family breakfast room look just wasn't doing it for me.

With the help of two quarts of
Annie Sloan chalk paint, a quart of espresso regular paint when the chairs didn't quite turn out as I had hoped, and two new head chairs purchased from Stein Mart, the table is finally complete and much more aligned with my style and the look and feel of the condo!

| Gold chair in the background is the first iteration of the chairs using Chalk Paint. But I didn't love the color. And it didn't go AT ALL with the table and rug. So I went back to the drawing board and re-painted them. |

The two head chairs from Stein Mart were as expensive as the table and 5 chairs I bought off C-list but definitely bring the whole table together and are exactly what I had in mind. The only piece now missing to complete the room is some type of dry bar. But for now, I'm more than content!
Cheers.
