Business as usual.

While catching up with a friend on the phone this evening, I remarked that my life was unbelievably lacking in updates worth mentioning. Sound depressing? Perhaps. I've noticed this theme a few times recently. I was at a surprise birthday party for my cousin last week and two acquaintances asked what I had been up to and I had to scratch my head and say, "not much!" What would be a glamorous update? Something exciting like a new job or new place to live or even a new dating relationship? Or something enviable like an amazing vacation? Maybe even just recent accolades? Even though it's been business as usual for me lately, in a way I am thankful for the non-events that have allowed me to keep moving through and just enjoying the simplicity of everything. I work, hit the gym, cook and eat dinner, and visit with friends a couple times a week!

But as a quick recap, here's some snippets worth noting...

• A day adventure in the French Quarter Saturday! Never. gets. old.
• A volunteer shift at the Rock n Roll marathon Sunday. My assignment: passing out chocolate milk at the finish line! Hey, it does a body good! No, I did not say that. But I thought it!
• This Super Bowl ad from Coca Cola that FIRED PEOPLE UP. Way to rear your ugly head ignorance. Nicely done. (I personally think it's a great video). 

• The naming of the new President at my university. People say he resembles Quentin Tarantino. I'm excited to work under his leadership!
• A solid performance review that I feel good about and allowed me to voice some concerns I had about my position and our future direction.

See? Nothing spectacular. Unless you count this Budweiser ad. It's pretty spectacular.
