It's Fat Tuesday. In every other city in America, that means business as usual. But for those of us lucky ones who happen to call New Orleans home, it signifies the final day of the Carnival season. MARDI GRAS! It's been an amazing last couple of weeks here in the city. I've logged more miles than I care to count walking the routes and the streets of Mid City and Uptown, caught more loot than I know what to do with, and have enjoyed the company of friends, family, and strangers while making sure my cup was always full.
It's pouring down rain outside today and COLD. So while I did venture out for Zulu this morning with mimosa in hand, I'm now content back at home reflecting on the great memories from the last few days and enjoying another mimosa. Hey, it's Fat Tuesday. Anything goes.

| School spirit! Roll Wave! |
| Loved spending a couple evenings with one of my oldest friends! Hard to believe we met 13 years go! |
| Muses. One of the best parades! Caught a shoe!!! |
| A night off from the parades Friday night to enjoy my first Crawfish boil of the season with my childhood crew! |
| Again, gotta support the Green Wave! |
| Orpheus (by far) had the prettiest floats! |
One of my favorite things about Mardi Gras is the ability to catch the parades with different people in different spots each night. While Wednesday night was by far my favorite night (also caught a purse!), I enjoyed watching Endymion with my sister, Orpheus with Katie and her family, and Nyx, Muses, Thoth, and part of Bacchus with a cast of friends.
Hard to believe it's back to the real world tomorrow. While beads will linger in the trees and power lines for weeks to come, the city will resume normal operations and Mardi Gras 2014 will become just another memory. But a good one. Indeed.
Cheers.
