It's been one week...
It's been one week. When I stop to think about all the things that happened since last weekend, my head spins. Literally. This last week of June has been OUT OF CONTROL. I literally can't even. Haha. But seriously, I'm considering it a feat that I'm sitting here on a Sunday afternoon sipping on a cold Abita Strawberry with a smile on my face. And relatively stress free. Where did life find me this past week?
Hoping for a calmer week. And looking forward to celebrating the 4th with some friends doing absolutely nothing but vegging out and catching some sun!
Cheers.
- Three sessions of orientation (2 days each) in seven days.
- A rain storm on the Sunday afternoon of one of the above orientations that sent water into my car (AGAIN. for the THIRD TIME. TWICE in the last 14 months. Too much). With the help of Ed (who picked me up, fed me, kept me sane, and went to the store with me), my car is sorta back to normal. I covered the floors in Tidy Cats litter (to sop up the moisture), vacuumed the hell out of it at Shell clogging their vacuum cleaner with muddy/gloppy Tidy Cats, freaked out, let it dry more, scrubbed the carpet floors with soapy water and a towel, let it dry more, shampooed and vacuumed it again at Shell, dropped 5 apples on the floor (apparently soaks up the bad smell), and left 3 Arm & Hammer boxes in there. My car doesn't smell like roses at the moment but it also doesn't smell like Woodstock. The carpet is pretty gnarly and gross but it is what it is. I need to shampoo it again but I just can't bring myself to do it...yet.
- Prepped my condo for the termite tenting that was slated to happen Thursday - Saturday. Because we have termites. And they're eating my wood! Only to find out Thursday morning after I packed up all medicine, open food in the fridge, freezer, pantry, all spices, and clothes for a few days and left for work that J/K, due to the torrential rain we continued to receive all week, tenting had been postponed. Mmmmk.
- Celebrated a friend's birthday with dinner Friday night!
- Biked down to the French Quarter yesterday (HOT!) to pick up a few items at H&M and enjoy a cold brew in Jackson Square with a buddy. Have I mentioned how much I love NOLA?
- Cheered on the birthday friend at her first roller derby bout yesterday out at UNO.
- Helped said friend move today.
Hoping for a calmer week. And looking forward to celebrating the 4th with some friends doing absolutely nothing but vegging out and catching some sun!
Cheers.
