Must See TV: Fall edition
Fall marks more than just the return of Starbucks' Pumpkin Spiced Latte (had my first of the season last week), cooler temperatures, college football, and my favorite sweaters and layered looks. Fall also kicks off the new TV season and as aTV junkie, I look forward to this time of year and to EW's special double issue about all the old and new shows with as much excitement as Andy Cohen does a Housewives reunion.
So for my mother, for me, and for any of you that care what I'll be watching (and DVRing) this fall, the list is below. As always, new shows I'm giving my two-three week trial run are marked by an * and times are in CST since that's my time zone people. The first shows of the new season kick off tonight with Parenthood returning and The New Normal. And the premieres will span out over the course of the next month. Woot!
Sunday evening
7p Once Upon A Time (ABC)
8p The Good Wife (CBS) , Revenge (ABC)
9p 666 Park Avenue (ABC)*, The Walking Dead (AMC)
Monday evening
730p Partners (CBS)*
9p Revolution (NBC)*
Tuesday evening
830p The New Normal (NBC)*
9p Parenthood (NBC), Private Practice (ABC)
Wednesday evening
8p Criminal Minds (CBS), Modern Family (ABC)
9p Nashville (ABC)*
** Looks like I am finally giving up Law and Order: SVU after a bagillion years. It's also on at 8pm and I cannot very well catch three shows at the same time. So long SVU!
Thursday evening
7p Last Resort (ABC)*
8p Grey's Anatomy (ABC), Glee (Fox)
9p Scandal (ABC)
So there we have it good people. 17 shows per week. YIKES. It's probably a good thing SMASH is being held until mid season. But of the 17 shows, 6 are newbies so the potential for them to be dropped from the lineup is good. My prediction? I'll give up Revolution, Partners, and possibly 666 Park Avenue but stick with The New Normal, Last Resort, and Nashville. Oh, I did not even mention American Horror Story which premieres for its second season in mid October. Up in the air whether I'll catch it or not.
So let the viewing begin! Cheers.
