Let love win.
Today, the world of Facebook, Twitter, and other social media sites have been flooded with a single image. One that promotes above all else, LOVE.
Today, the Supreme Court of the United States decides whether Prop 8 is constitutional or not. Today, the Supreme Court decides whether all individuals should have the right to marry the person they love, regardless of sexual identity. And tomorrow, the Supreme Court tackles DOMA deciding whether the federal government should recognize all legal marriages. It's an important two days not only for gay Americans but for all Americans.
And yet regardless of the outcome over the next two days (though I am hoping for a GIANT leap in the right direction), I am proud of my peers, friends, and social network who are standing up and speaking out for equality, straight and gay. It's time.
