Life Update.

In the almost 5? (gosh, has it been almost FIVE?) years that I have been blogging, June 2013 may produce the smallest amount of posts ever. Sad. Not tragic, but definitely sad. My life is pretty Groundhog Day, rinse and repeat this month. Wrapping our sixth (of nine total) session of Orientation today, I found myself already looking ahead to when session seven will begin on Saturday rather than taking a moment to breathe and celebrate the success of the past 48 hours. The good news: things have been running very smoothly and though I am a perfectionist and always looking for areas to polish, there's a lot of praise being thrown around for our program. And it's a great feeling to be part of a winning team.

So life OUTSIDE work? Gasp, does it even exist right now!? Not really. But in the moments when I haven't been working...

Condo Home Improvements!
  • A couple trips to Home Depot and an evening with Dad creating a tubing system to re-direct condensation dripping from my wall unit to flow into a pipe off the house instead of directly below onto another unit's front porch.
  • The massive window project that began today and is expected to last the next six to eight weeks as a restoration company repairs the exterior trim/woodwork and reseals all the windows on our house.
  • Purchasing new drapes that are (1) more aesthetically appealing than the ones I inherited with the unit (color, length, fabric, everything...) and (2) are energy saving curtains and hopefully will cut down on the heat that pours into my unit in the afternoon.
Social Life!

Have I mentioned how much I am now enjoying being closer to home? I spent Saturday celebrating my grandfather's birthday across the lake with my extended family and spent Sunday celebrating Father's Day with the family. Every time I see my niece, I fall more in love with her.

On the friend front, I caught the new movie, The Internship (B+ review) with my friend Amanda, cooked dinner with Caleb, had dinner at Mark and David's, and enjoyed a fun happy hour and dinner evening with Peter and Jered at Phillip's and then Santa Fe.

And when I'm not working, socializing, or sleeping, I can be found trying to get in a workout or two during the week. Not my best month for total hours spent in the gym but anything is better than nothing!

Cheers.
