Fall TV: Too Soon?
Is it too early to start getting excited for the return of fall TV? I know most shows won't return until mid to late September (or worse yet, sometime in October) but I am already thinking ahead to my favorite stories making their return, the addition of perhaps a few new ones, and the excitement of getting wrapped up in the lives of my favorite characters. Sure, I've been staying busy this summer by bingeing on House of Cards, Orange is the New Black, and Big Brother but I do miss my weekly faves.
One of the things I always look forward to (and sometimes stress about) is the release of the fall TV schedule. Did my shows change days/times? Will my DVR be on overload some nights? Will three shows conflict forcing me to give one up or watch it online? Will I still be hating Sunday night football for wreaking havoc on my CBS shows? I sit back and wait for time to reveal itself...And it finally has. And yes, I know what you're thinking. I need to get a life. But I have one! It just includes a lot of TV!
So the tentative line-up for my fall TV viewing pleasure...
Sunday
7 PM Once Upon a Time (ABC)
8 PM Revenge (ABC) and The Good Wife (CBS)
9 PM The Walking Dead (AMC) ---> not sure the time on this. I usually catch the re-run episode.
Monday
9 PM Hostages (CBS)*
Tuesday
7 PM Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (ABC)*
Wednesday
7 PM Revolution (NBC)+
8 PM Criminal Minds (CBS) and SVU (NBC)
9 PM Nashville (ABC)
Thursday
8 PM Grey's Anatomy (ABC) and Glee (FOX)
9 PM Scandal (ABC) and Parenthood (NBC)+
* New shows I'll give the usual 3-episode trial run to.
+ New night/time
Only 14 shows! (Only...HA!) Last year, I think I kicked off the season with a whopping 17. Of course, once EW's Fall TV Premiere issue comes out, chances are I'll read up on a couple other new shows and decide to add them in. But for now, I'll stick with only two newbies. And perhaps throw in the towel on SVU. Too predictable...
Cheers.
