Week(end) Update.

Have you ever been in Energizer Bunny mode so much that by the time you actually stop to take a breather, you look around and think, "WHOA? Where has the time gone?" Maybe it's just me. Since last weekend, it's been a whirlwind of a week. I'm not complaining in the slightest. In fact, feels like I am making up for the month of June where the only thing on my calendar was work. And with my student staff returning in just under two weeks, I'm making the downtime count!

A run down of the week...

Monday: An adventure to the North Shore with Katie to Firehouse Subs and Kohl's. And Bugageddon on the Causeway. We're lucky we survived!

Tuesday: The Wolverine. The worst in the X-Men franchise. And you didn't think it could get any worse after X-Men: Last Stand. Think again!

Wednesday: Trivia at Dat Dog with the Red Feathers. We're in the semi-finals today folks! Top 8 teams from today get to travel to Tupelo for the final and a chance at winning 25K. Not too shabby!

Thursday: Rhodes Summer Send Off Party. A bust. But at least I got to catch up with Helen.

Exhausted yet? No?

My best friend came in town for the weekend and we bounced all over. Dinner and drinks Friday night on Magazine at Ignatius ( a new cajun/creole restaurant to me -- decent!) and Balcony Bar. Coffee Saturday morning at Velvet, a cute, little, corner coffee shop on Magazine Dan had read about. Breakfast at Laurel Street Bakery and time perusing the many shops down Magazine. An afternoon in the French Quarter (oysters at Felix's, the Satchmo music festival at the old Mint Museum, drinks at Good Friends), and we even mustered up enough energy to spend the evening on Freret enjoying pizza at Midway and cocktails at Cure. This morning, I got up and ran 8 miles before we hit up brunch at Surrey's.

Now that Dan has left and I'm doing a bit of laundry and taking a breather, I'm realizing it's been a PACKED week. But I've enjoyed almost every minute of it. God bless this city! And the good company I've been surrounding myself with lately.

Cheers.
