Halloween
I spent last Halloween at Club Drexel wrapped in a fleece passing out candy with two of my best friends, sipping on wine, and enjoying the many, many jokes St. Louis kids tell as a way of asking for candy. What a great tradition! This year, I traded in passing out candy on a front porch for great music listening to Rebirth down in the Quarter at Armstrong Park. The weather called for torrential rain and we made it up until the end of the concert before the heavens opened and SOAKED everyone.
Perhaps it's just me, but Halloween seemed to last forever this year. From the Halloween New Orleans celebration last weekend to a pumpkin carving party Tuesday night and the actual holiday last night, talk of costumes and celebrations seemed to bleed into any and every conversation for the last several weeks. One colleague commented that this year more than any other, there seemed to be all this pressure around having plans as if Halloween is the new New Year's Eve. Potentially.
In other news, found out today that Mardi Gras is only 95 days away! Let the Carnival season planning begin...
Cheers.
