AWARDS SEASON!

Tomorrow! Tomorrow! The Golden Globes are tomorrow! It's only a day away!!! Can you tell I'm excited? You know me, I LOVE awards season. It's like my NCAA tournament for all you basketball fans out there.  So I'm looking forward to catching the show tomorrow evening, seeing Tina and Amy knock it out of the park as hosts, and having a little dinner party gathering with a few friends.

I've done my best to see as many of the movies as possible over the last few months. While I have not succeeded in seeing as many of the nominated/talked about films as I would have liked, I've made a decent stab. And by the time the Oscars come around, I hope to add a few more films under my belt.

What I've seen:

• 12 Years a Slave
• The Butler (though not nominated, it should have been in my book. Maybe for the Oscars?)
• Saving Mr. Banks
• Gravity
• American Hustle
• Dallas Buyers Club
• The Wolf of Wall Street

What I want to see (in order of importance to me):

• Her
• August: Osage County
• Captain Phillips (will need to order On Demand)
• Frozen
• Labor Day

What I should be seeing but really don't have interest in:

• Nebraska
• Blue Jasmine
• Inside Lleweyn Davis
• Philomena
• Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom

As you can tell, if I saw everything I should/need to be seeing, ten movies is a bit much. Four or five is more doable. And more likely to happen between now and Oscars. And usually, I tend to see a few of the Oscar winning films after awards season wraps if I feel like I missed out. I don't envision many of the films on my should list racking up many awards. Maybe Philomena? Maybe. 

Oh, and as for the films I HAVE seen? I ranked them above in order of enjoyment in my book. Not acting (was superb in most of the films) but in terms of how much I liked the films regardless of buzz.
