SNEAUX DAYS!
So what's trending in NOLA this week? #SNEAUX and #SNEAUXPOCALYPSE.
For a guy who had a brief stint in the Midwest, it's been slightly comical to see the city respond to the threat of freezing rain, sleet, ice, and the potential for snow. NOLA has shut down! The airport, government offices, the entire interstate, all schools and universities, heck even coffee shops! While I've witnessed some rain and sleet over the course of Tuesday, I haven't seen anything that compares to what I've experienced in St. Louis while business operated as normal. And when I first moved to St. Louis, I was shocked and appalled! How did people function in snow!? I didn't even have chains for my tires and man, did I get poked so much by my friends for voicing that concern! But down here in NOLA, the city don't play! The entire state actually. All programming interrupted by round the clock news coverage of flurries. FLURRIES!!! I'll admit. I'm a southerner at heart and in roots and I would love some snow in NOLA! But come on people! Everyone else in the country figures out how to deal with it. Well, maybe not after reading/seeing all that coverage in Atlanta. YIKES!
So in light of the icy conditions, I've got two bonus vacation days this week! I'm loving having two days off! But a boy can start to go stir crazy after some time!! Plus I've had to reschedule a number of interviews since I'm in the THICK of recruitment for orientation leaders and graduate interns.
So how did we fare?
And there you have it, folks! I took these photos Wednesday morning (Day 2). Not much to write home about. But I'm not complaining. It's been a great couple days of rest, relaxation, and fun! Some of the highlights?
Cheers.

- Setting up HBO Go (thanks Erica!) and starting Looking
- Breakfast out both mornings with friends!
- Slice for dinner Tuesday night and a slumber party with Daph.
- Being able to hit the gym, the mall, and Target on Wednesday while most of the city stayed indoors!
- Being able to use a weekday to do my laundry and clean the house!
It's back to work tomorrow and back to reality. My next two days are slammed but the good news is the weekend is right around the corner...
Cheers.

Also I loved your comment about chains on your tires! When I moved to Chi, I asked B what we did with our car during the winter...like where we stored it. HA.
