"Are you ready for FUN!?"
Below is an email I received last night in anticipation of Fun Day today:
"Happy St. Louis Fun Day Eve!
Wow - We have a bunch of fun-loving people! Get excited! Here's the plan, fun-seekers.
Meet up: High noon. We'll be carpooling so if you're willing to drive, clear the junk out of your back seat. The parking lot is located on the northwest edge of the corner of Grand and Lindell, very near the Grand exit of Hwy 40.
First stop: An establishment where snacks/lunch may be purchased, so you can get food there if you'd like. If you'd rather eat before you arrive, that's fine as well.
Agenda: top secret, but for those of you who are joining us for dinner, anticipate around 6:00pm in the St. Louis Area. Sometimes the fun gets out of hand, so there may be a delay.
Bring: Some money (and you'll want to have some of it in cash - one of our destinations doesn't accept plastic). There is an admission cost for one of our adventures ($7 or $14, depending on if they accept the coupon we found online), and we'll have opportunities to buy snacks and food along the way, including dinner at a casual restaurant. You may want to toss an old blanket in the trunk.
Wear: Comfortable clothes, shoes for walking, and a smile."
I am not quite sure what to expect today but I'm pumped! What a great idea! A friend of a friend who works here on campus has planned two prior Fun Days and encouraged me to tag along for today's adventure. Always the planner, I'm always eager to KNOW the plans. What are we doing. Where are we going. When are we leaving. When are we returning. This time around, I'm going along for the ride. I'm looking forward to getting to know some folks better today, meet others for the first time, and see what adventures we find ourselves in!
