Saturday Night #FAIL
Last night I ventured out with a couple friends to grab a quick bite to eat at Hamburger Mary's before seeing the new Snow White adaptation, Mirror Mirror. Overall, the night was a HUGE bust. It started at Hamburger Mary's where we sat at the upstairs bar only to find out after sitting there for 10 minutes there was no bartender or service up there and NONE of the servers bothered to stop and ask us if we needed assistance. WTF. A bartender finally came and when I ordered a Mango Margarita, he responded with, "I hate our margaritas." OK. Literally. That's what he said and walked off. So I went with a beer. We ordered a couple appetizers and both were pretty sub par. The bartender got snappy with a couple of the servers and overall, the entire experience was a crapshoot.
Hoping for the night to improve, we dashed off to Chase Park Plaza walking into the film 5 minutes after starting time only to see the previews had already ended and the film was just beginning. Quickest previews in the history of my movie viewing experience. The film was DEPLORABLE. With a pretty decent cast (Julia Roberts as the Queen, Nathan Lane as her sidekick, Lilly Collins as Snow White and Armie Hammer as the Prince), one would suppose the film would be pretty good. It's gotten a ton of buzz, especially as it was casting and filming during the other adaptation due out later this year, Snow White and the Huntsman. I give the film a D-. I'd give it a solid F but for the cast.
Overall, a huge night of disappointment. Wasted time and money. Hoping for a better day! I'm headed out to a friend's home who lives in St. Peters (about 45 minutes away) to grill kabobs and catch up. Hope you had a better weekend on your end!
