Easter Vacation: Where's the beef ...?

With the sun setting behind us on Thursday evening, a friend of mine from St. Louis and I headed east to Lexington, KY for the weekend. She was going home to celebrate the extended weekend (the university was closed on Good Friday) and I was tagging along to visit with two of my best college friends, Ash & J.

The long weekend was absolutely perfect! Couldn't have asked for a better time catching up with friends and enjoying the incredible weather. Having not seen Ash & J in almost a year, I was looking forward to seeing their new home (which describes them to a T and is amazing!) and hearing more about their lives now that they are more settled in Lexington.

So highlights from the weekend? Where to begin...

Friday:
Lunch at Alfalfa Restaurant, shopping with Ash, a new brewery in town, and dinner at Nick Ryan's Saloon.

The new brewery in town did not disappoint. Industrial design and great wheat and amber beers!

Saturday:
Brunch at Julep Cup and Keeneland! Ash and J's friends had Clubhouse and Box tickets so we rolled in style. While I didn't bet on any horses, I enjoyed the races and had a wonderful afternoon capped off with delicious sushi that evening at School.

Don't see a horse track every day!

Sunday: Easter
Homemade biscuits (courtesy of Ash) and some delicious scrambled eggs (thanks J) led to a wonderful breakfast at home. A 4-miler around their neighborhood, and some vegging on the couch capped off an incredible weekend!

The Easter Bunny made a surprise visit!

Overall, a memorable weekend to Lexington, an epic reunion with two of my closest friends, and a happy Easter!

Cheers.
