My new vintage green trunk.
I was running through the neighborhood yesterday when I happened to run by the Independence Center that provides assistance for adults with "severe and persistent mental illnesses" (their words, not mine). Anyway, they have a Clubhouse Shop attached to it which is another way of saying a more upscale, swanky thrift store. I had been in there once before a long time ago but didn't see much. As I ran past, I looked in the window and noticed a cute, vintage looking, greenish/olive trunk sitting in the window. I was tempted as I kept running to turn around and go back to take a closer look/check out the price but I didn't.
Well, today I was thinking about the trunk again so I decided to call the store making a commitment to myself that if it was priced under $100, I would go back and purchase it. I envisioned it making a great bedside/end table or coffee table in my next (whenever and wherever that is) place. So I called this afternoon to find out not only was said trunk priced under $100, it was priced below $50 sitting right at $35. DONE. Didn't give it another thought. I left work a few minutes early, dashed over there, and BAM, bought a green, vintage trunk.

I apparently didn't even think it might not fit in my car. It didn't. So I had to call one of my students and get him to run his truck over and throw it in. It's painted so it leaves me the opportunity depending on the color scheme/couches/bedding I may end up buying in said new place to re-paint it or do something different with it. Opportunities are endless. And for only $35, how could I not buy it!? #Winning.
