It's been quiet on the blog front this last week (and some change). Not for lack of want; rather, a lack of free time. We OPEN tomorrow. It's almost like Black Friday for department stores. You spend countless hours preparing and getting organized knowing that in less than 24 hours, the floodgates will open, the masses will storm, and you hope and pray you do not get trampled in the process. Big gulp. Embarking on my third year of opening this community, I am ready. My ducks are in a row, my senses at peace, and though I know we will hit some bumps and take some bruises, we got this.
So with what little free time I've had, how have I been spending it?
Enjoy the week! Cheers.
So with what little free time I've had, how have I been spending it?
- Watching Friends with Kids starring a quarter of the Bridesmaids cast (Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, John Hamm, and that Irish cop guy) along with Adam Scott (Parks and Rec, Party Down) and Jennifer Westfeldt as two best friends who decide to have a child together. Not the funniest film I've ever seen but worth a viewing for sure.
- Brunch at Soulard Coffee Garden with Evie. Some good Bloody Mary's...
- Six Feet Under. A new friend of mine worships the show and was shocked when I said I had never seen it. He owns the entire series and loaded me up with the first two seasons. I've watched the first 5 episodes and while I enjoy the cast (Adam Krause, Rachel Griffiths, Michael C. Hall, Lauren Ambrose, and Frances Conroy), I do not particularly love the story lines. Season 1 of Political Animals on USA only had 6 episodes and I was hooked by episode 2. I'm willing to watch the entire first season (13 episodes) but if I don't feel a connection, I'm out. Sorry Luke!
- Battling a head cold. It's the WORST. I basically wake up every morning feeling like crud and go to bed every evening feeling the same. It has zapped my motivation to work out and that is just depressing. Hoping to kick it soon.
- Celebrating the now public news that I am going to be an uncle! That's right, "Little Ro" (as we are affectionately calling him or her) will be making an appearance in March. I am beyond thrilled for my little brother and his wife and look forward to celebrating with them on this journey.
Enjoy the week! Cheers.
