Christmas Vacation.

One week of Christmas Vacation is almost behind me. It's been flying by! I'm blessed to work in a profession that gives us close to two weeks off to celebrate the holidays before returning to work in the new year. Similar to Thanksgiving, it's been odd not traveling anywhere for the break. There were almost plans of a quick, 24-hour excursion to Pensacola to visit the grandparents but I've come down with a cold and it's better to not visit them under the weather. So how have I spent the break? Aside from spending a couple days at the toy store leading up to Christmas, I've been bouncing all over the place and have barely been home. Until today. Some of the highlights...

Cheering on Tulane at the New Orleans Bowl with Matt. Though we failed to tie the game in the last minute by missing a field goal (final score ULL 24, TU 21), it was a fun game to watch and made me proud to represent the Green Wave community!

An evening of laughs with Matt and Katie. We sadly only get to spend time together once or twice a year but it's always chock full of quality time.

Celebrating Christmas with family. We changed things up a bit this year with Mom, Dad, and I enjoying Christmas Eve lunch at Arnaud's before visiting St. Joseph Church for Mass. It was my first visit to the beautiful sanctuary and probably the first Christmas Eve service I've enjoyed immensely in a long time. The music was amazing (thank you MCA choir!) and the priest was very relatable. May be a new church I need to add into the rotation. My folks normally go every Sunday.

Oysters Arnaud's. DELICIOUS!

Victoria's first Christmas and opening gifts with Natalie via Skype. I wish she could have been with us in person! Watching Victoria open her gifts was the best gift I could have asked for. She was too precious!

A night out with Molly in the Warehouse District last night. Happy Hour at American Sector, dinner at Sun Ray Grill, and a night cap at Rusty Nail. Always love spending time in different parts of the city and American Sector had been on my list of places to check out for quite some time. Their happy hour is unbeatable!

Overall, it's been a great first week off and I'm looking forward to seeing what's in store for the second half of the vacation! More to come. Cheers.
