Hey July.
I don't know about you but June was a MONTH. In some ways, it's been my quietest June in years. We restructured my largest program at work and moved it to August so instead of spending June welcoming almost 3,000 visitors to campus and working long hours, I had a quiet few weeks in the office. But the month was filled with many other things. Celebrated PRIDE. Helped my first real estate clients go through the home purchasing process (what a thrilling ride!). Invested an exorbitant amount of energy into fighting with an auto body shop to repair my poor car that was in a nasty accident back in April. Found out I was a getting a raise at work! Spent time with my niece and nephew. Anchored down and focused on some heart healing. Soaked up the pool. Started my 50-hours of real estate post license coursework.
I'm kicking off July with a little stay cation to maximize the 4th of July holiday and give me a couple extra days to rest. I know July will heat up in its own ways (and I'm not even talking about the extreme heat we've had lately) and before life gets too chaotic, focusing on a moment or two to breathe.
A colleague posted the above image and it was a nice reminder that we don't need to wait until a new year to regroup and develop new intentions. I like that about a new month. I don't do it often enough and aside from using the 1st as a reminder to change out my contacts and my razor head, the day comes and goes. And though it technically came and went yesterday, I'm committed to spending a few moments today to let go of June, take some deep breaths as July rolls in, and approach this month with a clean slate. It's not fair to July to enter it exhausted from June.
Here we go!
