My Guilty Pleasure...

Big Brother...It wouldn't be summer without my two all-time favorite shows, SYTYCD and Big Brother! I couldn't tell you what season I started watching although I'm leaning toward saying Season 5 (at least that's when I got serious), nor can I tell you the number of hours in my life (days now) that I have given up to watching strangers sit around all day, nap, lay out, lift weights, play pool, hook up, compete, and BACKSTAB like nobody's business. But that's the nature of the game with BB. I'd love to be a contestant on the show one day but I doubt I'll ever have a job that says, "yea, sure. You can definitely take time off from July-September. Enjoy your 15 minutes of reality fame." But hey, a guy can wish...

Every summer I try to convince myself not to watch it (just like Pringles, one episode and I'm hooked. I can't stop!) and yet every summer, I'm spending three hours a week (yes three, it comes on three times a week!) sitting in front of the TV watching the d-rama unfold.

Now, before you say I'm pathetic (if you haven't already) Showtime and CBS partner up to offer Big Brother After Dark which allows the ridiculous BB fans to spend every night from 12am-3am watching BB live. I've never done it, never even thought about it (that might be stretching the truth just a bit...), and would never spend the money to get Showtime only for that (although, with Weeds on these days, I could be swayed...)
