iFitness.
I wouldn't call my relationship with my iPhone love at first sight. I wouldn't even say we courted each other. I have to admit I just wasn't that impressed. Sure, it looked cool and it seemed to do some neat things but overall, it was "doing the most." And life is already complicated, messy, and dramatic enough without adding an iPhone on top of it all.And then one day it happened. I was eating at Highland Bakery (AMAZING) in A
tlanta with Will, Ash, and J and I asked Will to let me see his iPhone. "I want to show you one thing," he told me. That one thing was iFitness. Now, having lived with Will for three years post college, I'd like to think Will knows me pretty well. He knows what "hooks" me and what I'll go weak in the knees for. And while my interest in the iPhone had been steadily growing for a while, I still wasn't sold on purchasing one. And then he showed me iFitness. And that my friends, was the beginning of a BEAUTIFUL relationship.(Sidenote: I still didn't dash out and buy an iPhone. So don't go rolling your eyes thinking I'm a crazy man.)
iFitness has become my new personal trainer. And the best news is, I only paid $1.99 for him. Yep, $1.99 not $199. I have unlimited sessions and I can work out at whatever gym I want (or no gym for that matter) and whenever I want.
So what's the beauty of iFitness?
A few thing
s...1. There are five categories (Exercises, My Workouts, Routines, Logs, and Extras).
2. iFitness breaks the body down into the main areas and provides you with 20+ exercises for each body part you'd like to focus on.
3. Each exercise comes complete with a photo, step-by-step guide, and youtube video to ensure you work the muscles properly.
4. There's a weight monitor and a BMI calculator included.
5. iFitness comes with several routines ranging from the beginner program to a program for abs, weight loss, business travel, golf, and more!
Today I began the muscle building program. Or as iFitness describes it, "A workout program geared towards those among us who want to move up in shirt size because the muscles have simply grown too large." I wonder if Travis works for iFitness...
So in addition to my water bottle, my iPhone has become my new accessory in the gym. It doubles as an iPod and my personal trainer...Perhaps I should name him...We shall see. But I'm excited about starting this new program. New exercises, new machines, new routine. And let's face it, it's always nice to shake things up.
Cheers.
