FIRE AWAY. We took a beating in class this morning. Well, and this afternoon but who's counting?

This morning, our classmates presented the first of four simulations for our class on student affairs administration. Today's task: restructure the division of student affairs of a simulated institution. One team, the Alphas, had no budget changes, the Betas faced a 7% budget decrease and my team, the Deltas, had a 7% budget increase to work with. We spent a huge amount of time over the past 3 weeks meeting with our groups to decide what direction to take, how we would rationalize that direction, and ensuring our budget was in order. We presented our work this morning (ours was a 50 page document) to our professor and two guest "judges" who critiqued our plan and offered positive-ish feedback. I don't think any of us were prepared for the tough questions that were thrown our way from either the graders or our classmates.

One of my favorite quotes of the morning: "So what, just because someone has a masters degree that means they deserve the title of Assistant Director?" Yes, Virginia, two years in this program means it does.

But it's done and over with and we move just one step closer to graduation day. And one step closer to starting to stress out about employment!

Cheers.
