American Idiot.

At some point in this blog's history, I've blogged about my love for broadway musicals. Since I don't use tags, I have no earthly idea when that was or what I even said. So I'm doing my best not to repeat an entry I've previously composed.

Two recent events have reminded me of my love for broadway. The first, which you can view below, was Green Day and the cast of the new broadway musical, American Idiot, performing "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" live on the Grammy's. It was a great performance and reminded me a bit of the awesomeness of Spring Awakening and Across the Universe. American Idiot is a new musical coming to broadway in late March which brings to the stage Green Day's album of the same name. Based on the one performance, I'm willing to bet it'll be a great show. The cast is ubertalented. The second was a conversation I had with my best friend this past week as he looked forward to seeing Jersey Boys at the Orpheum. I haven't seen the show but I've heard the music and it's amazing. He said the show was pretty fantastic as well.

And thus, as I continue my job search, I hope to find myself in a city on the radar for traveling casts. Spring Awakening is headed to the Fox Theatre next month and I must admit I haven't taken advantage of being so close-ish to Atlanta during my time here. I've only gone to see Wicked there and should be doing a better job of seeing more. So my hope for next year is to be closer to a theatre where I can continue to explore my awe and love for all that is Broadway.

Cheers!
