2010: A Look Back

A look back at the year 2010 by my cousin, PICKmeg, had me thinking, she's on to something. Why haven't I done that with the passing of every year? Since RENT says it best: "forget regret, or life is yours to miss," I've decided not to dwell on my lack of chronicling 2008 and 2009 since the blog began in mid 2008 but rather, start with 2010 and move forward! So here we go, 2010: a look back...

• Successfully completing and acing my comprehensive exams in January.
• Traveling to Seattle (my first time) over MLK weekend to visit Kari
• Visiting Chicago in March (my first time) to search for jobs, visit Becks, and see old friends in the profession. Had my first Chicago deep dish pizza too! MMM
• The reunion of the crew at Lesikar's wedding in Dallas in March
  
• Finding out I received the highest score on my comprehensive exams and being named Outstanding Master's Student of the Year
• GRADUATION! M.Ed. CHECK!
• Saying farewell to Athens, UGA, CSAA, SBG, and moving home with no idea where life would take me in May
  
• The reunion of TEAM U at LB's wedding in Austin in May (can I say again how amazing that wedding was!?)
• Job Search 2k10: Visits to Nashville, Tallahassee, Saint Louis and Blacksburg
• Job Offer #1: Saint Louis
• Job Offer #2: Blacksburg
• The BIG move: Driving from NOLA to Athens to pick up a 14 U-HAUL and all my crap and the 11 hour drive to Saint Louis over the 4th of July weekend
• Starting my new job in July and wondering what on God's green earth I had gotten myself into!
• My brother's engagement at the end of July (hello, best man!)
  
• DP came up to visit for Labor Day Weekend
• The So You Think You Can Dance tour and a weekend visit with a friend from grad school and her mom
  
• Green whod came to town for a weekend visit
• UPDATED: Attending my 5 year college reunion. Love Rhodes. Love Memphis. Love my friends.
  
• Spending time with CSAA and other friends during NODA in STL in November
• A quiet but enjoyable Thanksgiving in New Orleans
  
• Congratulating two of my closest STL friends on new jobs and new adventures in the start of 2011
  
• A wonderful Christmas at home and some QT with the LeBlancs
• The family reunion at Pensacola Beach
• A low key NYE with two old friends

Here's hoping for many blessings in the new year. I haven't officially decided on a new year's resolution other than to give up texting while driving but we'll see what the new year brings...May 2011 be YOUR year.
