Oscar Time.

Wahoo! Oscar season is once again upon us and for the second year in a row, I am paying very close attention to EW's 25 films to see list prior to the Oscars next month. It's not that I have to see EVERY film but I enjoy being able to see who is nominated in each category and critique whether I feel that film, actor, director, writer, etc. deserves to be nominated for that category. By not seeing every film nominated, it's difficult to ascertain whether the Academy got it right when it announces the winners. And I enjoy being able to agree or disagree with the Academy.

So here goes...the list:

The Social Network* (Golden Globe Winner-Best Drama, Director, Screenplay)
The King's Speech* (Golden Globe Winner-Best Actor, Drama)
Inception*
The Fighter (Golden Globe Winner-Best Supporting Actress/Actor)
Toy Story 3* (Golden Globe Winner-Best Animated Film)
True Grit
Black Swan* (Golden Globe Winner-Best Actress, Drama)
The Kids are All Right* (Golden Globe Winner-Best Comedy, Best Actress, Comedy)
127 Hours
Winter's Bone+
The Town*
Rabbbit Hole
Another Year
Get Low
How to Train Your Dragon
Blue Valentine
Biutiful
Animal Kingdom
Waiting for Superman
Alice in Wonderland*
The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo*
Inside Job
The Illusionist
Tangled
Burlesque

* = movies I've already seen (9/25 ). Not as many as I would have hoped
+ = movie I started but got REALLY bored with and stopped watching

Without having too much time between now and Oscars and not wanting to spend a fortune at the theatres, I'm uncertain how many of the remaining films I'll get to. But films I'd like to still see include:

The Fighter
127 Hours
Rabbbit Hole
Blue Valentine
Waiting for Superman (when it comes out on Netflix)
The Illusionist (when it comes out on Netflix)
Tangled (when it comes out on Netflix)
Burlesque (when it comes out on Netflix)

So how about you folks?

Can't wait for February 27!

Cheers.
