Back to the Grind
What a great, first, extended weekend in the New Year! Having yesterday off was soooo nice. Beyond nice. Makes for a tougher Tuesday morning though, for sure. And even though the Dawgs lost yesterday in one hell of a nail-biting, triple overtime Outback bowl, I did not mind one bit spending just north of 4 hours screaming and shouting at the television set with my friend Shruti who is a Dawg herself. Good times.
I'm proud of myself too for not doing any work over the break. It was tempting and at times yesterday, almost creepily calling my name telling me to work on my two hour diversity workshop presentation for next Monday or screen resumes or complete my student staff evaluations. But I kept screaming, GO AWAY! GO AWAY! GO AWAY! and the voice would dissipate. Too dramatic? Yea, I thought so. Even for me.
In any event, I am ready to tackle this first work week in the new year. My tree is down, my Community Coffee is brewing, and my oatmeal is cooking on the stove. Happy back to the grind week folks.
Cheers.
