Leaving on a (few) jet plane(s)
I've never typed a blog entry on my cell phone before but I guess there's a first for everything. Just like my first cross-continental solo trip to Thailand on which I am currently embarking. So far, so good. I awoke at 5:00 this morning (cue the "it's 5 o'clock in the morning" song...it's a dirty little jingle you will quickly find yourself singing randomly at all hours of the day) and set out for the airport with the sun still sleeping, the roads empty, and Thursday's snowfall still lingering.
My flight to Chicago was painless, a quick 52 minute ride and I now sit and wait (soon to be a recurring theme) for my flight out to Tokyo in a couple hours. Hoping for some great in-flight movies to help make the 13-hour trek more pleasant.
Nerves are good! I am excited and amped up thinking about the adventure ahead, the much needed and long awaited vacation, the opportunity to travel foreign lands with my sister and experience a world I've never encountered before. See you later, America!
Cheers.
