the wheels on the car go round and round...

I'm not quite sure when exactly I stumbled across someecards. But I do know my life has been changed for the better because of it. I swear these cards are the best. I sometimes find it difficult to find an appropriate one for just the right occasion-normally I find inappropriate ones for inappropriate occasions. If you haven't introduced yourself to the site, now is the time get acquainted. Spend some time perusing the cards; it may even change your life.
Today feels like a monumental day for me. Of course, I'm sure when I look back on Thursday, July 24, 2008 a year from now, six months from now, or even next week, I'll not remember a thing about this day. Today is the day I bought new tires for my car. I was never quite certain as to how often one should invest in new tires. With only 45,000 miles on my 2004 corolla, I thought surely I had another 15k miles left to go before having to eat ramen for a month in order to afford new tires. I was wrong.
A rather laborious and stressful task, I entrusted Sears with my car and my credit car and hoped the damage would be minimal. It appears Sears is lacking in a customer service class as it took close to 30 minutes for someone to even assist me in the store. I let it slide. I also turned the other cheek when the tire-guru-in-training, Tony, raved about a specific tire, sold it to me, and then told me 2 hours later they didn't have that tire in stock. I grew tired of the lies and began to run out of cheeks when Tony informed me 10 minutes later that he quite frankly had no idea what he was talking about and had found tires to put on my car. He didn't quite specify what those tires were at the time.
Three hours later, I left Sears with my $500 new tires. Apparently, I get free tire rotations for life. Thanks Tony. I feel a sense of accomplishment having purchased new tires although I didn't feel a difference when driving the car home (something Wilma promised me I would notice. Nope. Wilma lied. Just like Tony. I bet she trained him...)
Going to go for a run to put some miles on my feet and not on my car. And then perhaps packing another box. We'll see.
Cherish your tires people. You never know when they're gonna go...Cheers.
