The kid in me...
In anticipation of going to see The Dark Knight tonight I decided to write about one of my passions: superhero films. I love them! I guess we all have our vices. I try to see almost every superhero movie out there, despite the reviews. There's just something about them. Perhaps it's envy, the thrill of being able to don another role and be someone completely different. It could even be a greater sense of self-worth, knowing you save the day. In any case, I'm a sucker for superhero films.
With the release of the summer's most anticipated film (a close tie with the birth of the Brangelina twins) I thought it would be fitting to list my top 5 favorite superhero movies of all time. You are free to disagree with me if you choose. But it's my blog so deal with it.
My top 5 favorite superhero movies are:
5. Batman Returns (1992)
4. The Incredibles (2004)
3. X2: X-Men United (2003)
2. Iron Man (2008)
1. X-Men (2000)
And there you have it folks. I was never a big Spider-Man fan. And I hate Kirsten Dunst so no hope for those films making it into the top 5. The Hulk never quite did much for me (though I must admit this year's release, The Incredible Hulk far surpassed Ang Lee's 2003 adaptation, Hulk.
My top five is definitely subject to change after tonight's viewing and who knows, with an Iron Man sequel in the works, a Captain America movie down the line, and my hope for a 4th X-Men installment, anything is possible.
Enjoy your weekend. I plan to visit the The Big One flea market in hopes of finding some great treasures for the move to Athens. And Dan really wants to see the Warhol exhibit at the Brooks so I am sure we will hit that up as well.
