Dinner and a Movie (or two).
I went on a date last night. Now before everyone gets all excited wondering who the lucky person was, I'll fill you in. It was my roommate Kari. Our date began with a viewing of Marley and Me at Tate theatre. I didn't read the book and though I had been told how the movie ends, I still wanted to see it. Well, let me just tell you that if you love dogs, are an animal person in general, or just have a heart, be prepared to cry in this movie. I'm talking tears like The Green Mile. But it was a great film and definitely worth seeing.
We decided to cook dinner at home last night rather than going out so after picking up some wine and the essentials, we made a chicken pasta dish complete with roma tomatoes, fresh broccoli, roasted red peppers, bow tie pasta, and roasted garlic parmesan sauce. When I say it was incredibly delicious, I'm not lying. I don't have many cooking talents up my sleeve but after last night's meal, I really think I could impress a real date with that meal.
We ended the night by watching Rachel Getting Married which I was excited about seeing. I love Anne Hathaway and since she was nominated for an Academy Award for her role, thought it was a film worth seeing. FALSE. Terrible. I'm not sure what people saw in this dark, boring film about a girl coming home from rehab for her sister's wedding. Some scenes were so dark you could barely see the characters, the plot was borderline crap and the acting just wasn't captivating. (Can't you tell how much I enjoyed it?)
Not much on tap for today other than breakfast with the roomies (bacon, eggs, biscuits, and coffee), my longest run yet with Caleb (11 miles...hopefully!) and working on my research instrument.
Cheers.
