Easter weekend!

Easter weekend was an epic weekend and by far, one of my favorite weekends of the semester. It was the kind of weekend that as it draws to a close, leaves me feeling so blessed for the friends I have here in Athens and I am left with that bittersweet taste in my gut that in 5 short weeks, I'll be moving on.

But to recap the weekend...
I spent all of Friday evening downtown beginning first with a group meeting at Trappeze (love a group meeting during happy hour!) followed by a second happy hour with my coworkers at Max Canada. We met up with more folks for dinner at Mellow Mushroom and capped off the evening with drinks at Magnolia's. The weather was PERFECT and it was amazing to let go of all the job stress and anxiety and just kick back with friends and good spirits.

Saturday we hit the pool to capitalize on the gorgeous Spring weather that feels a bit like summer. We decided to grill out Saturday night here at the apartment so a quick run to the grocery store helped us pick up the essentials: steak kabobs, chicken, asparagus, zucchini, potato salad and beer. We ate like we have never eaten before while watching the Final Four and had a great night.

Woke up this morning and went to a Methodist church downtown with my buddy Justin for Easter service. I really enjoyed the sermon, the music, and the service on the whole. It did feel weird to not be at Mass this morning celebrating Easter as I usually do every year but I was still able to spend the morning reflecting in prayer and celebrating Jesus' resurrection. The fact that I was with a good friend and not alone was an added bonus! Came back home to finish getting the house ready as we hosted Easter Brunch! Mimosas, casseroles, muffins, the most delicious bacon wrapped jalapenos stuffed with cream cheese, fruit salad, and Easter cupcakes. We feasted like kings and queens. We decided there was no better way to sleep off the morning brunch than an afternoon by the pool!

I'm feeling sun-kissed, content, and grateful for the amazing folks I surrounded myself with this weekend. Not so sure that I'm ready to close this chapter already!

Cheers.
