Away we go.

It's rare that I enjoy a movie as much (if not more) the second time around. I don't usually buy DVD's because once I've seen a movie, I've seen it. I may catch it a second time around but overall, I tend to watch things I haven't seen (expect for A League of Their Own and The Notebook which I could and have watched over and over again.)

Last night I was fortunate to catch "Away We Go" on HBO. I saw the film in Athens and I must say, I fell in love with it all over again last night. Starring John Krasinski and Maya Rudolph as college sweethearts who never married but are together and expecting their first child, the film follows the comic duo as they travel across the country in search of a home to start/raise their family. While I love John as Jim in the Office, his portrayal of Burt, a man boy who would do anything for the people he loves, made me enjoy him all the more as an actor. Maya surprised me in her role as Verona, a woman scarred by the death of her parents who delivers an exceptional non-comedic performance.

The duo whom you cannot help but root for throughout the entire movie has some amazing adventures. Most notably is a visit to Burt's childhood family friend played by Maggie Gyllenhaal. Catherine O'Hara, Jeff Daniels, and Allison Janey all make appearances along the way and deliver some great lines.

"Away We Go" is definitely a movie to add to your Netflix or Blockbuster lists. The movie is endearing and witty and had me laughing out loud (alone) several times. Check it out.

Cheers.
