Romigs take STL: Day 1

Well, the parents made it in yesterday with no delays! Luckily, they came in midday and not last night. I didn't even realize the extent of the storm/tornado damage the city received until a classmate posted on my facebook wall saying he heard about the airport and hoped I was OK. Come again? So I checked the news and lo and behold, concourse C in terminal 1 (the very terminal I was in last Sunday returning from Atlanta) was hit by a tornado knocking out windows, injuring passengers and closing down the airport. Whoa.

The events of our Friday yesterday consisted mainly of food. Broadway Oyster Bar (for some DE-LICIOUS cajun cuisine) and Eleven Eleven Mississippi for dinner in the heart of Lafayette Square. Not to mention the pre-dinner shared bottle of red wine we had at this cute little wine bar in Lafayette Square. I continue to fall in love with that area each and every time I visit.

I was able to give my parents a tour of campus despite the rain that won't. go. away. and they loved it! And despite the weather's lack of wanting to cooperate today, our agenda is somewhat full: Rooster for brunch, tour of the Basilica, the Bud Brewery tour, an early dinner and Next to Normal at the Fox. Phew! Looking forward to it.

Happy Easter!

Cheers.
