Weekend Rundown
Another great weekend, another great visitor! My good friend Katie, or "BB" as I affectionately call her, came to town this weekend to visit! We worked together for only a semester before she headed back home to take a job at her alma mater in Omaha, NE but she was a constant presence in my life for those 6 months and it was wonderful having her back.
She didn't get in until late Friday night and even though I was DEAD tired from having seen HP7.2 at midnight Thursday night and working all day, I powered through the eve grabbing dinner down in Soulard at Chava's with Brian and Jenny, doing laundry, helping a friend move some boxes into her new downtown loft (it's epic) and a late night grocery store run. Katie got in around midnight and we stayed up for a bit chatting before hitting the sack.
Saturday, we grabbed brunch at Crepes, etc. in the CWE before heading to the Botanical Gardens with Brian and Jenny. I had never been and it was one more thing I could cross off my list of things to see/do in the city! A visit to FroYo in the Loop was the PERFECT way to rest our feet and avoid the heat (hey there rhyme!) before we headed back. Saturday night, we had Thai at The King and I on S. Grand and spent the rest of the evening at Sasha's on Shaw sitting on the patio. Though it was somewhat hot, a nice breeze greeted us every now and then and the mosquitoes left us alone (for the most part).
Katie headed out early today and I managed to hit the pool for a few hours before taking a Christening gift to my friends' home for their son and visiting with the family in town. Tonight, I'll either re-watch Blue Valentine (I slept through it the first time yesterday afternoon) or catch up on 3 of my Sunday night fixes (Big Brother, Glee Project, Drop Dead Diva).
Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!
Cheers.
