Weekend Rundown

I had a great weekend. Seriously, a great weekend. It all started with my best friend, Dan, coming to town to hang out for the weekend. His dad happened to be in town for a conference so Dan came up to see me and spend some quality time with his dad. We had a relatively low key Friday evening grabbing dinner with his dad at Square One in the Square and drinks with Brian and Jenny at Six Row.

Saturday morning, we got up and headed to Crepes, etc. in the CWE for breakfast. I made a poor life choice by suggesting we sit outside and as the sun quickly rose and heated all the land, we found ourselves patting our faces to catch the sweat starting to form :(. But brunch was delicious and afterward, we made a thrift store run to look for some good finds and hung around the apt. Dan headed out to meet his dad for an afternoon at the Arch and an evening at the Cardinals game and I bee-lined it for the pool. H-O-T. But a couple hours in the sun and a nap on the couch were just what I needed. Saturday night I went with Brian and Jenny to the mall to purchase an iPad2 (WHAT! WHAT!), grab dinner at California Pizza Kitchen and then hung out on the porch at Jenny's house smoking the hookah and relaxing. Dan and I capped out the evening by engrossing ourselves in two episodes of HOARDERS that were seriously unreal. I think perhaps I should devote a whole post to Hoarders. I just may...

Today we sat around drinking coffee and catching up before we headed to the Majestic to check out their gyro omelet (that being Dan doing the checking, not me, as I don't enjoy gyros). I had never had their breakfast and to be honest, I've had better. But it was decent. Perhaps I had the wrong thing (traditional eggs, bacon, potatoes and toast). Dan headed home after that and I returned to the pool for a couple hours before hitting the gym and doing some laundry.

All in all, a GREAT weekend. I loved catching up with the best friend and the weekend gave me a wonderful chance to relax before training kicks back up tomorrow.

Cheers.
