Week in Review
It's not that I've been in a blog rut, only that I've been so busy that finding a few extra minutes just hasn't been in the cards as of late. And I'm afraid it's only going to get worse in August. I'm actually curious to know how much I blogged last August. My guess is not very much. It's hard for me to believe it's the end of July already! Grant it, I spent almost all of it in training (4 weeks to be exact) but the end of July signals the end of summer in my student affairs world and the start of a new academic year. Things are 'bout to SPEED up!
So what's worth nothing in my life as of late?
1. Finally got a library card from the local library! I had to jump through some hoops to get it because my address is an on campus address and they didn't understand that I wasn't a student but it finally happened. I checked out two books (Black or White by John Aubrey Anderson and House Rules by Jodi Picoult). I got through about 2/3s of Black or White before I gave up. It's awful. Hoping for better with House Rules!
2. Saw a few good movies! I highly recommend Crazy, Stupid, Love in theatres and Tangled out on DVD. By the end of today, I can probably also say Captain America is worth seeing!
3. Bought my ticket home for my brother's wedding & Thanksgiving! Really excited to be home for close to 10 days to celebrate my brother's wedding, spend time with both sides of the family, and enjoy my sister's company since she'll be in from Australia!
And sadly, outside of work, that's about all that's been happening. My social life is definitely taking a backseat to my work life at the moment. Here's hoping September is better!
