Family Dinner.

Last night, my friend Brian and I went over to his aunt and uncle-in-law's house for dinner. They live about 20 minutes outside the city and I first them a few weeks ago when they hosted a farewell party for Brian's wife before she left town for two months of rotations in WI. They're a great couple so when he invited me back with him, I jumped at the chance to get off campus, enjoy a home cooked meal, and pretend for 2.5 that I had family here in town. We had a great night with them. The steaks were amazing and we ended up sitting around the table for close to 3 hours talking about anything and everything under the sun. It definitely made me miss having family so close and the ability to run home for dinner and and a nice evening without having to drop $300 to make it happen via a plane flight.

Perhaps a move home to NOLA is somewhere in my future...
