Weekend Win
Closing time. What a week! It's been a revolving door of sending everyone out into the world and welcoming summer residents in this weekend. I think my building was empty for all of 2 days? That might be wishful thinking. Coming off the end of a crazy, busy, stress inducing work week, I was really looking forward to the weekend and to hopefully getting off campus as much as possible. And what a great weekend it turned out to be! A mini-kickoff to Summer 2o12 in the Lou.
Friday night I sat around a bonfire drinking Schlafly Summer Ale celebrating a friend who is leaving the university after 4 years here. She's good people and I enjoyed spending time with many folks I see regularly but don't know all that well. It was a chill, peaceful evening. Though I had to work Saturday morning, I found a couple hours to sneak away to the pool for my first pool visit of the summer. LOVED. IT. Was able to knock out a large section of a book I've been reading at a snail's pace since Thailand and catch some sun on my pasty skin. #Winning.
Saturday night I went to a graduation party for two friends, B&J, finishing med school and a masters program who are moving next weekend up to Milwaukee to begin a new adventure. Definitely going to miss them greatly but grateful to have spent two years with them and wishing them well. And though I had to spend the better part of Sunday working, I did sneak away for a walk around Forest Park with my pal, Kelly, and a trip to Trader Joe's before we made fajitas for dinner. #Winning.
So all in all, an amazing weekend. And looking forward to the 4-day work week before heading off to Maryland for the McDutton Bachelor/ette weekend! WOOT!
