Life lately
My how time has flown. I had good intentions to do some blogging over the course of the last 10 days or so but life had other plans. With a busy work week ahead, I have a feeling I will be putting up my Christmas tree before I know it! #toosoon.
In any event, life has been good to me lately! Last Sunday I went to Bevo Mill for brunch with Shrut, Evie, and Luke. Luke had purchased two Groupons that led to our checking out the swanky brunch in town. And swanky it is at $25 a person. But the $5 unlimited bloody mary's and mimosas were more than worth it! We had a great time and stuffed our faces full. It almost felt like a special occasion like a birthday or holiday but alas, it was just good friends celebrating each other.
I only worked one day last week before hitting the road on Tuesday for the Wisconsin Dells. It was my first trip to Wisconsin and I was unaware I was headed to the indoor water park capital in the nation. Luckily, I got to take advantage of the indoor wave pool and lazy river while I was there. In town for a work conference, I enjoyed the opportunity to meet and spend time with old and new colleagues, learn some new things happening in the field, and enjoy the company of some good friends since Luke and Shrut were also there. I even found some time to visit the outlet malls across the street from our hotel.
And last night I attended another first, my first Diwali show. Shruti celebrates Diwali and invited a few of us to attend the show at the institution where she works. I was not prepared for the 3.5 hour show full of skits and dances. The dances were amazing and I was so impressed with how committed the students were to practicing and preparing. Very cool.
The week ahead looks to be a good one with a Diwali celebration on Tuesday evening, a UGA alumni happy hour on Wednesday, and hopefully connecting with friends I haven't seen in a while next weekend.
Cheers.
