Oh Christmas tree, Oh Christmas tree...
Back in grad school, I purchased this tiny toy 6-foot fake Christmas tree (something I would NEVER let us have growing up at home. A fake tree? the horror! the horror!). But I was on a grad school budget and when I saw this "do it yourself" tree for a whopping $20, it was a no brainer. I'd say I've gotten my monies worth, and then some. This year marked the fourth year I have put my tree up, always the weekend after Thanksgiving, and usually while watching RENT in the background but this year, it was Angels in America to finish out the series. Sure, the tree may come in 100 pieces requiring me to layer it and construct it as if it were a Lego building and sure, it's always a challenge each year to get it back in the box it came in (minimal storage you see), but the hard work pays off. I love nothing more than sitting in my living room with the tree lit during this month between Thanksgiving and my return home for Christmas. #Winning
Aside from decorating the apartment, the weekend back turned out busier than I expected with a friend's open house Saturday night, church on Sunday, and brunch at Winslow's Home with Shruti and Mary. I'd never been to the cute, restaurant meets boutique shop with a coffee house vibe establishment. As soon as I walked in, I fell in love with the place and could instantly see my friend Kari and I spending hours in there. I finished out the day by running out to DSW to purchase some suede boots and hit the gym.
Ready to get back to the office this morning and knock out a great week. Happy Cyber Monday to those of you planning to catch some deals today.
Cheers.
