I'm on this song kick...
So I'm not entirely sure what's with me these days but I keep finding myself becoming emotionally attached to songs I hear lately. I wrote about "We all need saving" by Jon McLaughlin and "Love who you love" by Rascal Flatts. And now I'm stuck on "Why" by Rascal Flatts. It's a song about suicide and before folks go, "wow, talk about depressing," it's a beautiful song. No joke. I went and did a quick google search to see what the deal is with the song and apparently the band has some personal tragedies dealing with the loss of family and friends to suicide. Though the song is about a depressing topic, it delivers a poignant message about the beauty and wonder of life and how wonderful life can be:
So though it's a gloomy day here in Athens and I find myself listening to the song on repeat, I'm not in a depressed mood. Just reflective and contemplative.
Cheers.
Who told you life wasn't worth the fight? They were wrong. They lied. Now you're gone. And we cry. Cuz it's not like you to walk away in the middle of a song. Your beautiful song. Your absolutely beautiful song.
So though it's a gloomy day here in Athens and I find myself listening to the song on repeat, I'm not in a depressed mood. Just reflective and contemplative.
Cheers.
