Golden Birthday
Oh what a night...Yesterday marked the 27th anniversary of the year of my birth, my ascent into my late 20's, my reality check that even though I still work in a college setting, I am indeed no longer a college student, and finally, the start of what I am dubbing my GOLDEN year. For those a little slow, I turned 27 on the 27th of August therefore marking my golden birthday. It was an amazing day. From coffee and doughnuts with my coworkers to the insane number of text messages, emails, facebook posts, phone calls, and cards, I felt much love yesterday. It's a great reminder of the number of friends and family members I have scattered across the states (and the globe) who made an effort to wish me a special day. What an affirmation and testament to the power of relationships.
To celebrate the momentous occasion, I went to the Last Resort Grille for dinner with a few of my friends and then met a majority of my program out for drinks at Little Kings. Then Manhattan. Then 8e's. Then the Loft. It was great to spend the evening with everyone and I especially enjoyed getting to know so many of the first year's better. They are a great group.
Last night's amazingness was definitely felt this morning but I think I have finally rallied! Needtobreathe concert tonight at 40 Watt with Caleb and I couldn't be more excited! Also ordered my iphone today and looking forward to its arrival.
My golden year is off to an amazing start and I truly believe this year, the golden year, will be the year of many greats: a master's degree, new job, new adventure, and maybe, just maybe, new love.
Cheers!
