Away we go
I cannot think of another movie I have seen in 2009 that I enjoyed as much as Away We Go. Well, (500) Days of Summer comes close.Away We Go had a short-lived run in the theatres and didn't even make it to a majority of theatres. I am grateful that the movie theatre on campus was able to secure the rights to show the film this weekend. The Indy film starrs the The Office's John Krasinski and former SNL castmember Maya Rudolph as a pregnant couple expecting their first child who travel the country looking for a place to raise their child. Along the way, they make several stops to visit old friends and relatives trying to find the perfect city to make their own: Phoenix, Tuscon, Montreal, and Miami among others.
This film had me in stitches. The casting was perfect and it was really refreshing to see a fim with no A-list actors hogging up the screen. The story was believable, moving, and hysterical. So if you can find it at your own dollar theatre, get off the couch and go see it! Or go ahead and put it on your Netflix list right this minute. Definitely worth it.
In other news, I must have moved to Seattle because the weather here is atrocious and won't let up. It's been raining pretty steadily for the past few days with no end in sight. I enjoy a good rainstorm every now and again but a persistent one that prevents you from being outside for multiple days in a row is a problem. We'll see how successful outlet shopping is later with this weather!
Cheers.
