The Move.
I meant to take pictures today. Honestly and truly, I did. But then when you're in the spirit of things, "WAIT! LET ME GO GRAB MY CAMERA" seems to slip your mind.
I picked up my 10 foot Budget truck today and hoped to walk out of there with only spending $20 but the attendant persuaded me to buy the insurance for $25 (steep...and I'm a pushover) so I did. Fear of me hitting something or something hitting me and having to deal with a lot more than $25 didn't seem worth it. Not when my stress level is already peaking.
Since I'd spent most of the week since Monday packing up all the small things, I spent the first hour and a half putting everything into the truck that I could carry on my own. For whatever reason, I hate feeling like a burden to others and I didn't want my friends who offered to come help being stuck giving up their day to move boxes I was capable of carrying. So by the time they showed up, they only had to spend about an hour and a half helping me take a full load to my 10x10 storage unit and then load up a much smaller second round of some tables and my trunk.
All in all, the truck and the storage unit which I paid through July 1 will run me right under $150. Not too shabby. I have no idea where I'm moving to so throwing it in storage here seemed like the most logical thing to do. I hope and pray it stays mildew/mold/insect free between now and ....whenever I move it out.
This is now the 7th time I've moved since 2001 and I gotta tell you, I'm ready to be done with it. I'm becoming a pro, sure, but I'm sincerely hoping I can settle down in my next job for at least 3 years and take a breather from feeling like I am moving every. single. year.
Cheers.

i'm so happy for you, finishing this phase of life! and just hang in there - that job will come soon! (perhaps in the meantime you should find a nice pool to camp out at all day.)
