Weekend Recap
It was a great weekend round these parts and with the sun beaming and the temperature rising from a frigid teen degree to the upper 50s and lower 60s, I couldn't have asked for anything more. I relish watching the snow melt and the grass yawn and come up for air. Almost feels a bit like spring is coming!
I kicked off the weekend Friday night by visiting with one of my best friends from grad school who was in town for a fraternity/sorority conference. We went down to Soulard to Llewellyn's Pub and caught up about life for three hours over fish and chips and some brewskies. Gah! I forgot how much I miss her and it was incredible to just sit and chat for hours with an old friend without playing the usual, Hi, how are you, where ya from game that I've been playing so often when I'm out meeting new people.
Not much to write about Saturday day other than a work out and a trip to Target and Nordstrom Rack (no purchases) but Saturday night I went to a S.A.D. (Single Awareness Day) party at a bar in Dogtown called Felix's that my friend was putting on. I met half a dozen new people (played the Hi, how are you, where ya from, what do ya do game) and got to know a few colleagues better.
It's been a relaxing Sunday scanning in my tax information to email to my Dad, hitting the gym, and the grocery store, and I look forward after Mass to making a casserole for dinner and entertaining a couple friends to watch the Grammy's.
Feeling refreshed and energized for the week ahead!
Cheers.
