Catching Up
It's been a hot minute since I've blogged. I meant to do a weekend recap but I must have been too pooped and then too busy once the week kicked up to revisit.
Weekend Recap:
The weekend was exactly what I needed! Chock full of friendship and stress free. (Minus being on call Friday night and dealing with the alphabet soup of situations). So I laid low Friday night and had dinner with friends while catching up with a friend who had just returned from a two week Mediterranean cruise (I'm not jealous, not at all...). Saturday I spent the day with two other friends visiting a Juntique Sale at a local church (more jun than tique), eating an incredibly delicious brie and apple omelet at a new breakfast restaurant, Crepes, in the CWE, and running errands in the afternoon. We even had an adventure with two flat tires! Saturday night we saw Thor in 3D at the Moolah (not worth the 3D but the movie was entertaining) and grabbed some late night mexican at Chuy's next door. Sidenote: One of the things I am LOVING about STL is that I was able to walk to both the movie and the restaurant after because they're both across the street #winning.
Sunday, I called Mom for Mother's Day and found out she enjoyed her gift, Season 1 of Parenthood on DVD. #winning. I worked out and was blessed to get to spend the evening with one of my oldest college friends and her mom who were in town. After picking them up from the airport and getting settled into the hotel, I was treated to Water for Elephants (better than Thor but incredibly different, followed pretty closely to the book), a bottle of wine at Bar Italia on the patio, and dinner with the addition of more friends at Sub Zero. If you haven't had their burgers RUN THERE NOW!
All in all a great weekend.
Week Recap:
Where did the week go? Twas the week before closing and all through the halls, the students were going APE SHIT CRAZY over finals and moving out. We've been BUSY. Add in an 8-hour judicial board hearing I participated in Tuesday, a 3-hour staff development workshop on inclusion, and a short week (I'm taking tomorrow off to head down to the land of the delta blues), the week has been a whirlwind!
Hoping for an amazing weekend at BBQ Fest starting tomorrow!
Cheers.
